Hong Kong Trip 2011 – Day 4

(14 Jan 2011)

Today was our last day in Hong Kong. And we decided to visit Madame Tussauds’ Wax Museum. We had to take the Peak Tram in order to reach the museum. The tram was a wonderful experience which I have always seen it on television. 🙂 The tram goes upwards in a certain angle. So you’ll feel a force pulling you backwards while the tram is going up, and my head was kinda stiff then. haha.. 😛 The best part was when we were leaving, as the tram was going down, we felt as though we were rolling down a slope (with the fact that we were actually in a tram). Since the seats in the tram were “one-way” we were facing backwards while the tram was going down, super fun!! 😛

Hong Kong Trip 2011 – Day 1

(13 Jan 2011)

After settling down in Hong Kong, the very first thing that is most important would be to walk around the hotel area and familiar ourselves with the surroundings. 🙂 Bought Hui Lau Shan aka 许留山 Mango Mousse back to the hotel to try, and from then I’ve fallen in love with their desserts..

Good Bye Xiamen, Hello Hong Kong

(11 Jan 2011)

Headed over to Hong Kong from Xiamen. Bad experience and we almost couldn’t get out of Xiamen.. All because of excess baggage.. Had excess baggage of 18kg!!!! And when Xiamen Airlines say 20kg Max, they really mean it, not even a single kg more was allowed. But we were fine with it since we were willing to pay, but the process of paying made us almost missed our flight.. We were only allowed to check in 1.5 hours before our flight, and since that gate closes 15 mins before departure, you could say that we had approximately 1 hour to check in etc.. When we wanted to pay the fine, they didn’t accept any other currencies or credit cards, and since we didn’t have much RMB with us, we were told to go to the money changer to get our money change.. And WTF!! It was closed when it was supposed to be open.. When back to the airline office and told them it wasn’t open, the staff-in-charge had dissappeared.. When she came back, she didn’t want to believe us that the money changer was closed and asked us to go back out and check and wait!! After waiting for 20 mins, the darn money changer opened but that stupid staff disappeared AGAIN and when we asked other staff, all they know was “Don’t know”.. *faints* That was one bad experience… And one lesson learnt : “NEVER have excess baggage when flying domestic flights…”

Had a one hour flight over to Hong Kong from Xiamen.. Stayed at Kimberly Hotel which was an awesome hotel which was situated in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, with just a few min walk away from Avenue of Stars, Jordan Road, etc.. And most importantly, shopping all around!! *heaven*
