Ah Boys To Men 2

As a Singaporean, I guess everyone is aware of Ah Boys To Men…

If you have not heard about it, you ought to be ashamed cos even my 4 year old godson knows about it and is way in love with it. I myself am amazed at how much he knows about it, he knows how to sing the recruit anthem, which even his 23 year old godma doesn’t. I ought to be ashamed of myself.. Hehe.. He even knows the names of the characters in the movie just by looking at their picture.. And his favorite character is Sergeant Ong, Recruit Ken Chow…

He was so happy when he borrowed the DVD of the movie, and when his dad tried to bluff him saying he forgot to take the DVD along, oh my, was so angry and *pi li pa la* he started”scolding” his dad for bullying him.. Lol.. He’s just soooo cute…

Well, that’s not really the main point for this post, but it was just too cute that I had the urge to share..

I can’t believe how many times I have actually watched it and yet still have the urge to watch it again.. Watching with my cousin who survived Tekong is certainly different when watching with others/alone… This movie has really shed some light on what Singaporean boys have to go through in Tekong As I got to realize that many parts in the movie were indeed true, such as the exercises portrayed in the movie, the standby organs, etc etc.. And best of all, it seems like you are really able to “attack” when the “wife” gets stolen during the exercise… I’ve always thought these parts were made up just for the sake of the movie’s entertainment value..

The best army movie after army daze.. And I foresee myself watching it a few more times.. steady Lah!!~

The Perfect Rivals

Decided to head down to AMK Hub with Mum in the evening to catch the Perfect Rivals roadshow, since we had nowhere to go, and Mum didn’t want to go home early.. :X The movie should be an interesting one. Take a look at the trailer first if you can’t wait for it to start showing in cinemas.

Movie Night

Watched Sorcerer’s Apprentice.. Initially thought that this movie was gonna be boring for me since I expected it to be all about magic and sorts and I was never into this type of genre. But I was wrong about it.. It was a totally nice movie, full of suspense and excitement (*ahem* not to mention that “stupid eagle” that always scare us.. haha) Overall, it was a very nice movie, really enjoyed it.. So, in future, please pull me to watch movies, lest I miss out on some awesome movies.. 🙂

Like the lights of the cinema

Had Fish & Co for dinner before dinner and it was super filling.. Just the Calamari (side dish) alone was enough to fill our stomach.. And we still had the main course to clear.. *burp*

Orchard Road Light up P2

Met up with Min on Monday after work to watch “My Girlfriend is an agent”.. The movie was super nice. It was full of laughter.. Laughed all the way from the start of the movie till the end.. Was totally “drained out” from all those laughing after the movie..

Walked along Orchard Road after the movie.. Realised that the Xmas decorations are different from the other side of the road which I had walked on last saturday.. There were so many cute santa and reindeers this time round..

Haeundae

Met up with my dear father-in-law yesterday to watch Haeundae, a first disaster movie by Korea.. It was quite a nice movie.. The storyline was nice, it just flows very well.. Unlike other disaster movies, Haeundae focused on the victim’s “expressions” and such when the Tsuanmi happened.. It has those “treasure your family/loved ones” before its too late type of message. But some parts were just too exagerated, making it extremely hilarious.. lolx.. Really enjoyed movie, but their Busan accent made me go “eh, what’s he saying” at some parts.. hahaz.. Maybe I shld learn those different accents that they use in Korea too, but before that, let me brush up on my Korean first, its starting to get rusty.. AND NO WAY AM I GONNA LET THAT HAPPEN!!!~ wahahaha…

And I and my father-in-law made a pact to watch at least 1 movie every week together.. Lets see how long can this pact last.. Maybe just for this week?? hahaz.. But I definitely know it will last for only 3-4 weeks since I’ll be in Beijing by the 5th week.. wahahaha.. Think need find a replacement for him by then.. lolx

Ghost? Where?

Lunched at Northpoint’s Seoul Garden today.. And it feels great to be a student, i got to save about $7 on lunch as compared to adult price.. wahahaha… Food was yum yum and it was extremely filling.. Well, it ought to be since its a buffet.. lolx.. But surprisingly, the restaurant wasnt that smoky as compared to the others that I’ve been to..

Aftermath of our BBQ

Aftermath of our BBQ

After lunch, went to watch “Where Got Ghost?”.. Erm, even though the picture below is for the movie Up!, but we didnt catch that, i just found that board cute.. 🙂 “Where Got Ghost?” is quite a nice show.. The elements of laughter was more than horror though.. There were 3 mini ghost story in the movie, it can be quite scary at times, especially with the sound effects that was being used.. And it’s so “Jack Neo style” to put in some mini “morale of the story” type of storyline.. However, the computer effects used were EXTREMELY fake, as usual.. hahaz.. Many critic ratings gave it 2 – 3 stars, but i think its worth more than that though..

Up, Up and away!!~

Transformers – Revenge of the fallen

Watched Transformers today.. It was really very nice.. I’ve got no idea why some said it wasnt nice, and i’ve also got no idea why terry said he felt giddy watching the movie..

It was sooo exciting, and it was so captivating..
But the movie was soo long, 2 1/2 hours..
I didnt bring my jacket, and i was practically freezing inside the theatre.. hahaz..

It’s really a must watch!!~~

Blood: The last Vampire

After certain “twists and turns”, we ended up watching Blood: The Last Vampire.. It’s funny how they actually showed the preview of the movie during the ads that were running before the show and it said “Coming Soon”.. We were like “Yea, its really coming soon. As a matter of fact, its coming soon in a few minutes”.. wahaha.. When the show started, i felt that it was gonna be a grossy movie with all those slaying and stuffs, but it wasnt really that bad.. The storyline was overall quite good, only the ending was an exception.. hahaz.. How should i put it? The ending was kinda abrupt/ too sudden/ too weird?? I was hoping for a better ending..

AHH!!~~ I’ve got to stop this bad habit of watching movies every monday and friday, which has been happening for the past few weeks.. BRENDA!!~~ STOP WATCHING MOVIES!!~~

Dance! Subaru

Had practical test right at the start of school, and it was a 25% weightage.. ~!@#$%^&
Prepared my “secret weapon”, i wrote all the codes as small as possible, and it ended up looking like ants.. my fingers were hurting after all those writing..But, even with this “secret weapon”, my codes didnt manage to work.. ~!@#$%^&
The lecture today was totally a hypnothesis session…Lecture today was on law… Really can sleep sia..

Went down to catch Dance! Subaru with Poh Tee after school..
P.s I didnt watch it just because of DBSK’s 10sec appearance..
I wanted to watch it because of its seemingly nice storyline, and also because the movie revolves around dance..I can’t seem to understand why would people actually pay a ticket for a 2 hour show just to watch DBSK appear for a mere 10secs..well, at least i wouldnt be crazy to do that..*pls dun bash me for this sentence^^*
This movie turned out to be a great movie..It showed the determination of the lead actress, and her love for dancing..There were also numerous scenes where it was very touching..And I dun think i would need to mention how AWESOME were the dance scenes in this movie…

*YIPPEE!!~~ Going Tekong on wed!!~~ Going out with my dears on sunday!!~~

252 : The Signal Of Life

Went to watch this movie after school today.. Well, it isnt really as good as I had expected.. The story line was abit over-exagarrated.. Take for example a scence where the main actor was buried underground, and it was meters underground when a tunnel collapsed.. He managed to walk out alive while carrying another guy.. And when i mean walk out alive, i meant he really crawled out on his own.. Just imagine, how did he even managed to climb out while he was deep down underground..

Well, had expected lots of touching scenes in this show, or at least scenes that can make one cry.. But nah, it didnt really happen to me… The only scene that was really touching was when the little girl was crying out for her dad.. That really made me cry..

And do you know?? Terry who was seated next to me kept “screaming” when those grisly scenes were shown.. Even before I could “scream” when those scenes appeared, i could hear him “screaming” before me.. And for goodness sake, he’s a guy.. lolx… I always thought only we gals would shriek during grisly scenes..
